FC-W® lubricants are tested to meet performance and quality standards that were developed by NMMA to ensure optimum performance in today’s high-performance four-stroke marine engines.
The marine four-stroke oil testing criteria include bench tests for viscosity, corrosion, filter plugging, foaming, and aeration. Furthermore, the oil must successfully pass a 100-hour general performance engine test.
Once an oil has been tested by a sanctioned test laboratory, NMMA issues a license for the oil’s formulation and registers approved brands.
