NMMA Data Dashboard: Latest Performance Indicator Updates Available
The latest version of the NMMA Data Dashboard is now available, including performance indicators on wholesale and retail sales of powerboats and outboard engines; economic metrics; and interactive graphs illustrating recent and historical trends.
- New construction of privately-owned homes was up 22 percent on an R3M basis through December, marking the sixth consecutive month of growth and the highest quarterly rate of change in more than six years (July 2013).
- Consumer confidence was relatively unchanged in December, down to 126.5 from 126.8 in November. Consumer confidence remains at a consistently elevated and stable level with December marking the 30th consecutive month above 120.
- The preliminary consumer sentiment index for January is 99.2 (down by only two-tenths of a point from 99.3 in December), reflecting optimism in both current and short-term outlooks.
- In December, the manufacturing economies in 9 out of the top 20 U.S. boat export destinations were generally expanding. The U.S. PMI contracted by -0.9 in December for a reading of 47.2, marking the fifth consecutive month below the 50.0 threshold.
