Fourth Section of NMMA Statistical Abstract Released – International Exports & Imports

The fourth section of NMMA's 2016 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical AbstractInternational Exports & Imports 1996-2016 – is now available on NMMA.org. Data shows imports of recreational boats and marine engines coming into the U.S. moderated slightly in 2016, down 2.3 percent, after reaching an all-time high the year before. Exports declined by 13.5 percent in 2016, primarily reflecting the strong U.S. dollar which was trading at a 14-year high, making U.S. exports more expensive relative to other currencies. For more information on the types of boats and engines exported and imported, where they landed or originated, and more – spanning 21 years’ worth of historical trending data – please view the complete report.

NMMA is releasing each section of the Statistical Abstract as statistics become available, making this critical industry data much more timely and valuable. Below is the release schedule for the remaining sections in the 2016 Statistical Abstract:

  • May: Powerboat Sales Trends; Cruiser, Watersport, and Off-shore Fishing Boat Sales Trends
