NMMA Visits Cuba as Policy Changes Still Up in the Air
Amidst news that Cuba policy changes are on hold, NMMA visited Havana last weekend to represent the U.S. recreational boating industry at the Hemingway International Yacht Club's 25th anniversary celebration. The Yacht Club is an important privately funded institution that has withstood the challenges of the Castro regime with a mission to keep Cuba’s rich nautical heritage alive.
According to the Miami Herald, after much anticipation that an announcement on Cuba policy changes would be made over the weekend, President Trump has not made any decisions. The Trump administration is carrying out a review of Cuba policy that involves several federal agencies and is being coordinated by the National Security Council. NMMA will continue to monitor this news as part of its export development efforts.
